The Georgia Secretary of State's office reports that as of the October 6th deadline, there are 450,000 newly registered voters, bringing our voting population to over 5 and a half million.

Traditionally, voters had to register at state offices, but 1993's National Voter Registration Act forced state governments to make the process easier by providing uniform registration services through drivers' license registration centers, disability centers, schools, libraries, and mail-in registration.
