During a social game of Bridge in September of 1929, Myrtle Bennett mocked her husband’s card play. Insulted, Jack Bennett slapped her. In an explosive end to the Roaring 20’s in Kansas City, Myrtle shot Jack dead.

…And that’s only the beginning of Gary Pomerantz’s new book, The Devil’s Tickets. Gary is the subject of this Friday’s episode of Between the Lines and host Valerie Jackson joined us for a sneak peek at her conversation.

If some people see the world through rose-colored glasses, artist Marcia Cohen sees the world of color through black and white, so to speak.

As Susan Mittleman reports, Cohen’s new exhibition explores a spectrum of color you may not expect from someone whose trademark look is shades of grey.

The show Site Specific runs at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia through August 1.

Today as we remember the anniversary of the Apollo moon landing, our thoughts turn to another man who’s ideas of sound and space still resonate. On this day in 1937, Italian Inventor Gugielmo Marconi died at his home in Rome. We’re going to hear a story now from producer Nate DiMeo and his history series, The Memory Palace. About how, at the end of his life, the man credited as the inventor of radio, dreamed of putting his greatest achievement to another, incredible use.
